presents . . . .

Ava got to enjoy a whole variety of presents this weekend and we thought we'd share . . .

At Christmas Gpa and Gma Prevo gave Ava a wagon. Ryan must have had spring fever yesterday because he put it together. I think Ava felt like big stuff sitting in it.

When I was pregnant but didn't know if we were having a boy or girl, I was down in Georgia visiting my sister. We stopped by a boutique and I saw this dress and thought it was so sweet. When I found out it was a little girl, Amy went out and bought it for us. So here you go Aunt Amy - thanks!!!!
Ava thought the tulips Daddy brought home for mommy during the week were her present too . . . .shhh, don't tell her otherwise. She LOVED the bright yellow. Of course, we only got one picture before I had to quick grab the flower from my daughter's mouth!!
Moving on up! We bought Ava's new car seat this week and she was so funny when we put her in it. She just kind of sat back and looked at us like, "Yeah. I know I'm big. And I like it." : )
Ava liked the box the car seat came in more than the car seat itself. Daddy playing peek-a-boo may have had something to do with it.
She's starting to pull herself up on quite a bit! I had to laugh though when I saw her still making her model pose . . .standing up!! She would just stand like this for stretched of time. I think we're in trouble when she gets older.

4 generations! Ava is very blessed - she has 3 great-grandma's and 4 great-grandpa's! I love that she gets to know such special people from her mommy and daddy's lives! (ignore the fact that this was taken on a very quick whim in the middle of the day!) : )

Thanks for all the fun comments about Ava's suit - I saw it while I was pregnant and fell in love with it . . .and so bought it in two sizes. That's a good thing -because we'll use both of them this year!!! : )

ode to Florida

We just got back from a much needed break to Florida. It flew by WAY too fast! I already miss the sunshine. It was so special though to be with my grandparents and to have my parents down there with us. And after my last trip to Florida with Ava, it was so fun to finally show her just how fun Florida can be. Here's a few pictures with more to come.

a tribute and some ava news

Little did my mom know when she came a couple weeks ago to watch Ava while I took a week long class that she'd end up staying twice as long while I was laid up and Ava needed a playmate. To put it mildly, we ALL were spoiled rotton. Ava is already in withdrawl (bored with mom).

She's learned to wave, is now crawling forwards too, gets so excited to walk (or should we say run) with someone holding her hands, and loves to give herself kisses in a mirror. If she's feeling really generous, she'll even give us one now and then. It's been so fun to have my mom here and to spend the time with her. We have been blessed!

Ryan also informed me that if he had married my mom, he'd only need two pairs of underwear (I'm sure he loves that I just put that on here). Thank you seems insufficient mom!

As a sidenote: we really do dress our daughter. She just always gets so excited when we go to change her for bed we end up playing for a while just in diapers (not to mention they're so cute that way!)

Ava is sick : ( . . .so we went to the doctor's to make sure it wasn't anything to worry about (just a nasty virus). And so of course, Ava got weighed. Mommy learned there is good reason she's racing through her clothes.

At her 6 month apt: 16 lb 1 oz

4 wks later: 17 lb 14 oz!

I'm sure we weren't the only ones enjoying the nice weather yesterday! Our family went for the first walk of the year and then sat on our front step for a little over a half hour because Ava was having so much fun watching the neighborhood kids play and discovering the outdoors. It felt so good for me to be outside and I think Ava agreed. I don't think she stopping talking or giggling the whole time (AND she got to finally wear Grandma Prevo's coat - I love it!).

On a sad note - my daughter has decided it's time for a growth spurt . . .and has pretty much leapt through most of her 6 - 12 month clothing. My mom and I bought some 9 and12 month outfits for her this past week for spring/summer and tried them on (after washing them) . . .and half of them fit NOW. So I'm seeing my purchases for this summer slowly lose their purpose. I guess it's a good thing we're going to florida in a couple weeks so she can wear them! Hurry up Spring!!!!!!!!!
