the good news?

When I told Ava if she kept coming out of her room during nap time there would be consequences, she obeyed.

me too

I can't begin to tell you how good this was for me to read today.

Not only in dealing with said drama queen . . .

but in raising one . . .or two . . .or three as well.

So thankful God isn't done with me yet.

mother's day (a little late)

We spent mother's day this year up in michigan with my parents. It was nice to be up for a relaxing weekend, especially since we hadn't been up since New Year's! It was special to spend the day with my mom, even as we most definately missed some special people who weren't with us this year. It makes for a mixture of emotions. As always, the girls loved being at Grandpa and Grandma's house and I loved the shopping. : )

The basement is a favorite - the twins would stand by the door and cry to go down. Although with all the toys? This is how we spent half a morning.
Ava thought she'd take a turn. Not as easy as Daddy made it out to be.
What was so funny was that as a girl would fall off, they'd chase after the sheet and jump on.

Me and my girls - I think they're pretty special

Happy Mother's Day Mom. We are so thankful for you and all that you do and are to us!

Out to eat - my two munchkins

Celebrating with Grandma Bahr

Ava is quite delightful here. . .but this is how Kate spent half her evening. I am constantly amazed at how fast my babies are growing up and turning into little girls.

a fun birthday

My birthday was the beginning of this month. It's always fun to see how things change. Dr's appts, groceries, time outs, diapers and picking up . . .it's all still there. And yet I told Ryan at one point throughout the day I had to stop and think, "how perfect of an extraordinary . . .ordinary day."

I think it's what I love about this shot. I'm rolled out of bed, not a girl is looking at the camera (or sitting still for that matter). . .but it's my life. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
And what better way to wake up then 3 perfectly snuggly little girls.
(well when they woke me up they were . . .I think we've moved past snuggling in this shot) : )
That evening, we met Ryan's family at a local park for a picnic and to play (see how things change?!). It was such a relaxing night and the the girls had lots of fun.
The downside?
2 babies, 2 baby swings and needing to share.
Kate was not pleased with the arrangement.

Olivia playing with Aunt Tara

While it's a little dark, I think I'll title this one:
How many Gpa's/Gma's, Aunt/Uncles & Daddy does it take to help one baby down the slide.

Ava having fun on the slide

What can I say, you all know her father. : )

Kate doesn't seem to think anything is wrong with this picture

Olivia shows her how it's really done.

Much better.

Hanging out with Uncle David.

What'cha doing?

Ava thinks she needs to check it out.

I kind of like this guy. : )

Thanks for a fun and relaxing evening/day. Until the next one . . .

pardon the absence

We've been laying low
bumming

practicing our driving

playing ball

riding our bikes

eating some (ok LOTS) of ice cream

digging for worms

taking our turn with the neighborhood watch

and making some (ahem .. . MANY) messes

It is summer you know.

fun times

We had a garage sale this weekend with some friends. Ryan's parents were sweet enough to take the girls for the night so I didn't have to try and keep track of them during the sale. I got this picture this morning . . .

think we were missed?

I didn't think so either. Too fun.

Thanks again Mom and Dad!
