the fair!

We took the girls to the Fair tonight . . .or maybe I should say we took Ava, and Kate and Olivia tagged along. : ) While we didn't take tons of pictures (you try to take 3 kids under 2 to a fair and see how many pictures you take : ) ), we did get a few. At times, I told Ryan, it felt like we were one of the fair's exhibits! It was a fun but "late" night.

Ava petting one of the horses.
The highlight of Ava's night? Her first snowcone. I wish I would have had the video camera on when she got it - her face was pretty adorable. It was one excited little girl!

Right next to where we got the snow cone was a ride that fascinated Ava. Between the lights, screams and actions . . .I would have loved to know what her mind thought of it all.

She decided to take a seat and watch it.
You have to love how a toddle makes themselves at home regardless of where they are at!

As a last "hurrah," we took a ride on the carousel. She was quite excited about her "blue horsey."

It's been a crazy few weeks around here. Maybe one of these days I'll get a little caught up. However, I have a feeling that this just might be my life for now. : )
Have a great weekend!

4th of July in pictures . . .a little late

We spent the week of the 4th up in Michigan with my family. While much of the week was my grandpa's funeral, visitation and other visiting family, we did find some down time on the 4th to spend some time just as family and for the cousins to have some fun. Thanks for all of your prayers . . .and as my grandma crosses your mind, please continue to pray for her. So many adjustments . . .

But on to the photos!

This is actually from when I was home with the girls in June. I just loved this shot of my Grandma Bahr and Kate. It's classic grandma .. . and classic Kate: smiles and love for whoever will spend time with her.
The girls got to meet Grandma Lorene and Papa Ben for the first time. It was so special to be able to finally introduce our two little girls!

Two of my most favorite people!

Cousin time galore!

Ava and Cole are kindred spirits at heart - live life to the fullest!

We had a birthday party for Sophie.
Amy had a pinata for the kids and decorated the basement; including lots of favors on the floor for all the kids. Ava thought it was great. Here's how she spent half her evening.

And then back to work.

I love this shot of Ava - her hanging out with one of her favorite people ever: Auburn!

Kate found the activities a little exhausting.

Ava was still busy at work.

Cousins!

The annual pyramid. Let's just say it's getting a little rougher on that bottom group every year!

The closest thing to a decent family picture we've had yet.

because it is fun to compare . . .

I decided to go back and look at some old posts of Ava I had at 4 months to compare with the girls. And while many pictures make the girls look nothing alike, I found a couple that definately look like they are sisters!

But more fun comparisons?
Weight: Height:
Ava: 13 lb 11 oz 24 1/4 inches
Kate: 11 lb 11 oz 23 inches
Olivia: 11 lb 3 oz 23 1/4 inches

this one is for the grandma's . . .

The funniest part? Listening to Ava as she watched me upload the video. At every cue she'd join in and correct her mistakes. Enjoy!

pool mommy? pool?

The other morning as I was cleaning up breakfast, Ava disappeared for a little while. She came walking back into the kitchen like this, asking to go play in her pool.

4 months old!

Kate and Olivia turned 4 months old while we were up in Michigan last week. We just went in this morning for their check-up. Both girls are still growing well with Kate getting a little more of an edge on Olivia with their weights . . .although Olivia measures just a hair taller. They continue to change so much week to week. At this age it always seems like the fun keeps growing and growing (we won't count the past couple of days . . .I think the travel, a cold and shots did them and mommy in : ) ). Both girls are now rolling all over their cribs when put down for a nap and laughs come easier and easier.

At today's appt:
Weight
Kate: 11 lb 11 oz 25%
Olivia: 11 lb 3 oz 25%
Height:
Kate: 23" 25%
Olivia: 23 1/4" 30%
I love how it looks like they're laughing over something together here.
we love our little girls!
