our first sonogram!!!

We got to have our first sonogram the other day!

It's always so miraculous to see such a perfectly formed little

baby and each of its perfect movements.

Mommy and Daddy quickly fell in love . ....

and then after we fell over . . .we fell in love again.
Surprise!!
Mommy, Daddy and Ava will be welcoming home twins come March!
Yes . . .we were a LITTLE surprised too!!
And because we already get asked this right away: yes . . .it is in our families.

On my mom's side, both of my grandparents have twins in their families (3 sets on my grandma's side!) and Ryan's side has a set of twins there as well. The ironic part: twins are suppose to skip ONE generation. Yet out of 8 children on my mom's side, none had them. Out of 19 grandchildren, now only two of us will have twins. Both sides were obviously waiting for the perfectly equipped set of parents to come along and so decided to wait TWO generations. : )

Ok, I can pretend.

We are excited, overwhelmed, thankful and truly in love with both babies God has given us.

Although did I mention, we covet your prayers?!?!

thanks guys - it's been fun to hear and read people's reactions!

Megan . . .I almost called you wednesday after we found out, but thought I better wait until Grandma knew. : ) I'm sure I'll be ready to glean MUCH wisdom.

Interestingly enough, because of questions I've been getting, I did some reading online - and supposedly, twins are only passed down through the mother's side (and only with fraternal twins). They say there isn't much genetic evidence for a family history of identical twins. And they also say the idea of twins skipping a generation is a myth too. So, there goes my theory! : )

we'll be excited to find out the genders, that's for sure!

CONGRATS!! Like I said to you in church - I LOVE having my twins and hope the same for you.

Check out the Mothers of Multiples Club here in Bloomington - and, if you have any questions about it, I will try to help you out. Our BIG garage sale is this weekend and you could shop early now that you are having twins!

http://www.momcbloomington.org/

Feel free to email me for advice or a listening ear - I can try to help by passing along what worked and didn't work for me - I know your situation well since my daughter was 22 months old when the boys came along.

Anyway - praying for you and your family.

Welcome to the club!! It's a crazy-fun ride, but truly a gift from God. When I was prego w/ the boys, several twim mommies said that they couldn't imagine having just one after having twins. I told them that they were NUTS!!, and carried on about my way. But, even before we left the hospital, Rob and I both knew exactly what they meant. When they're yours and in your arms, the feeling of "it's meant to be" has a new reality. You will do wonderfully(even on little or no sleep:), and will look back and say "I can't imagine having just one!!". Congratulations!!! We'll be praying for you all.

I was totally stressed about having my last two 15 months apart, but it has been a blessing, so guess that means your family is about to be doubly blessed;) We can't imagine life without Kelsey and I am sure you will say the same about twins! We will be praying for you. Love, Jamie and family
