fishing!

Ryan took Ava fishing for the first time last week with Grandpa and Aunt Callie. She had lots of fun and did amazingly well . . .even when the fish weren't biting for a while.

This shot makes me giggle. Not sure why - Ava just kind of looks like she has no idea what's going on but still thinks it's pretty cool.

This just makes me smile - having fun while waiting.

Taking a turn herself

For a long while, Ryan wasn't having any luck. Ava was just hanging out beside him. At one point, Ryan looked over at her and said, "Ava, I'm not sure if we're going to catch any fish today." Ava just looked sweetly at him and replied, "Maybe next time Dad." : )

They just had to wait to catch the biggest one. Who knew there are fish with teeth in the lake?!
