so a long, long time ago . . .

You were supposed to read the title channeling Don McLean.

Anyways.

In the beginning of June, Ryan and I got to enjoy a blissful full week away with just the two of us. Ryan had an insurance conference down in texas and I tagged along.

I knew it was going to be a good week for all of us as our 3 girls stood blissfully waving good bye with Grandpa and Grandma . . .and we waved blissfully back. : )

At first I had been a little bummed to think I'd be spending full days on my own with Ryan tied up with meetings.

But I quickly got over it as I relished spending entire days only worrying about if I had enough sunscreen on, what flavor of ice cream to order as my afternoon snack or what book I should read next. : )

I told Ryan I didn't realize how much I needed the break, until it came.

And the best part of it all?

Every evening at 5 it was just me and my favorite man.

I don't have many pictures (sorry . . .I figured we'd all get bored of pictures of me by the pool). : )

But here's a few!

We ate at Rainforest Cafe one night. I think I had the absolute best salmon I've ever tasted. Yum. Makes me want to go back.
Although Ryan and I decided it will be a long while before we take our girls there. I think Ava would have been bawling before the gorillas were even part way through their first song.
We ate dinner one night at a fabulous buffet meant to mimic the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I seriously don't think I have ever eaten so much in my life at one meal. It was that good.
At one point I was debating going back for one last round and Ryan looked at me and asked, "Are you going to beat the buffet or is the buffet going to beat you."
Let's just say I think I ate my $30 worth. : )

One night, the sponsor of the conference put on a Lonestar concert for some of its clients. It was a pretty small venue, so we got to listen up close and personal. They were so good and it was a fun night out. I've always loved the song, "Amazed," but it was even better in person.

Funny, it already feels a lot longer than a month ago. : )

Already counting down until next year . . .

Em - I will admit, you were one (of few) positive sides to this move that crossed my mind (for my life anyways).

I'm excited for them (and Gateway) . . .sad for me. : )

But I'm sure we'll be seeing you! I'm sure you were wanting us all to stay with you when we come?!?!?! : )
